About Me
I grew up in Sydney with two cats and our dog Wags.
Wags was an Australian Terrier x Corgi whose idea of a great walk was the path from the sofa to his dog bowl. He could walk up the street, but no sooner had we got out of sight of our house than he would stop walking and lie down, refusing to move unless we went back home. At least he knew his territory! For many years after leaving home, I wanted a dog. A dog that would want to walk far and wide with me, but I knew my lifestyle wasn't conducive to caring for a pet. So it was only a few years ago that I was in the position to finally bring a dog back into my world.
About Rocky
I had always intended to buy a Rhodesian Ridgeback, until I saw two Hungarian Vizslas at Five Dock one day. I had never seen such handsome, friendly dogs in all my life. After being on a wait list for nearly two years, we finally brought Rocky home.
He is the engerizer bunny of our household and is always up for a game. He believes that every dog must want to be his friend, and that every human would like their face licked. I'm quite sure he thinks his name is "Rocky Down".
About Stella
Stella is a German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP) and an incredible athlete. We got her when she was 18 months old and she is an absolute delight. She is very gentle and kids love her because of her spots.
She would be the world's perfect dog, if only she wasn't terrified of thunderstorms. And there is that small matter of not being well socialised - she thinks that if something is small, fluffy and runs about, it needs to be hunted. Unfortunately, this includes other small dogs. But we're working on it!
Her inablity to relax in off-leash parks when smaller, unfamiliar dogs were around was one of the motivators to find as many interesting walks as possible! She is a highly active dog who only starts to tire after about 2 hours of exercise - so beautiful, dog-friendly walks are a must to keep her healthy.
